The Association of Leading Visitor Attractions, or Alva, collected these numbers and found that the Ashmolean Museum was the 31st most visited attraction in the United Kingdom last year. One of the main reasons for the museum's popularity was a special exhibition about the band Radiohead, who are famous musicians from Oxford. The exhibition included album covers, posters, and other items related to the band, which attracted many fans and art lovers. The display about Radiohead was especially popular, and it helped bring in more visitors than usual.

Other attractions at Oxford University also did well. The Bodleian Libraries, the Oxford Museum of Natural History, and the Pitt Rivers Museum all made it into the top 100 most visited attractions in the country. The Oxford Botanic Garden and Arboretum was ranked 188th, and the History of Science Museum was 205th. Richard Ovenden, who is in charge of Oxford's attractions, said that the increase in visitors shows how much people enjoy the university's unique places and collections.
