However, the item that holds the most significance for him is a cross necklace that his father, John Tompkins, wore for over a decade before he passed away last November. Sam expressed that he is 'not bothered' about the other stolen items but 'just wants dad’s necklace back. ' The necklace is not just a piece of jewelry; it carries deep emotional value for Sam and his family. In an emotional statement, he shared, 'I told the forensic person that I lost my dad last year. ' When he realized that the necklace was missing, he felt a wave of sadness wash over him. 'My heart just totally dropped, and I was very upset,' he said. He immediately reached out to his siblings, who reassured him that it was not his fault. The necklace was kept in a safe place, but someone had taken it. Sam described the necklace as a 'pretty irrelevant item' to anyone else, but it means the world to his family. He explained that his father was a Christian man who found comfort in wearing the necklace. 'We have all felt an enormous depth of comfort knowing it’s there,' he said.
