The United States has decided to stop Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, known as TSMC, from sending advanced technology from America to China. Raymond Woo, who works at Kyoto University Innovation Capital, said that the impact on TSMC will probably be limited. TSMC's only factory in China, located in Nanjing, makes older chips that do not contribute much to the company's overall revenue. TSMC is still a major player in the global chip industry and supplies chips to big clients like Nvidia. The new US rules could make it harder for TSMC and other companies to do business in China, but for now, TSMC's main business is not seriously affected.
