To celebrate Ozzy's contributions, the city of Birmingham is presenting his family with the Lord Mayor's Award, one of the highest honors the city can give. The award will be given on the day Ozzy would have celebrated his 77th birthday. Along with the award, his family will receive a book of condolence filled with messages from fans around the world. The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, councillor Zafar Iqbal MBE, said that Ozzy was a proud son of Birmingham who never forgot his roots, and that the city is honored to recognize everything he has done. Ozzy and the other members of Black Sabbath were also given the freedom of the city in June, showing just how much Birmingham values their achievements.

Ozzy's family expressed their gratitude, saying it is wonderful to see how much he is loved in his hometown and how he continues to inspire new generations. The Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery has hosted a special exhibition in his honor since July, attracting thousands of visitors. Ozzy's legacy lives on through his music and the deep connection he had with Birmingham. The city will continue to celebrate his life and the lasting impact he has had on its cultural identity.
