In the past 24 hours, Israeli fighter jets have targeted 450 Hamas locations in Gaza and troops have seized a militant compound, as reported by Israel's military. The health ministry in Gaza stated that the recent attacks have resulted in the deaths of dozens of individuals, bringing the total number of Palestinian casualties to 10,022. A journalist in the Gaza Strip described the overnight bombardment from the air, ground, and sea as one of the most intense since Israel initiated its offensive in response to a surprise attack by Hamas on southern Israel a month ago, which resulted in 1,400 deaths and over 240 hostages.

UN agency leaders, declaring 'enough is enough', demanded a humanitarian ceasefire on Monday. However, Israel has resisted increasing international pressure for a ceasefire, insisting that the hostages taken by Hamas militants during their assault in southern Israel on October 7 should be released first. 'An entire population is besieged and under attack, denied access to the essentials for survival, bombed in their homes, shelters, hospitals and places of worship. This is unacceptable,' the UN chiefs stated in a joint declaration. 'We need an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. It's been 30 days. Enough is enough. This must stop now. ' The 18 signatories include the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk, the head of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, and UN aid chief Martin Griffiths.

The health ministry in Gaza reported that dozens of individuals were killed by the Israeli air strikes in Gaza City and further south in Gaza neighbourhoods such as Zawaida and Deir Al-Balah. Hamas-affiliated Al-Aqsa TV quoted medical sources stating that at least 75 Palestinians were killed and 106 injured in the attacks. Palestinian health officials reported that eight individuals were killed in an air strike overnight on Gaza City's Rantissi cancer hospital. Israel's military stated that it was investigating the report.
