This weekend, Roundhay Park in Leeds will host a brand new music festival called Roundhay Festival. The event is drawing a lot of attention because big stars like Pitbull and Lewis Capaldi are headlining. Pitbull will perform on Friday, while Lewis Capaldi will take the stage on Saturday. The park is one of the largest city parks in Europe, covering 700 acres, and it can hold up to 69,999 people for the concerts. In the past, Roundhay Park has seen performances from superstars like Madonna, The Rolling Stones, and Michael Jackson, but it has not hosted a major concert since Ed Sheeran played there in 2019.

The festival line-up is packed with popular artists. On Friday, Pitbull will be joined by Jason Derulo, Tinie Tempah, Lil Jon, Los Tucanes De Tijuana, and Jazzie Martian. Saturday’s line-up includes Lewis Capaldi, Conan Grey, Jessie Murph, Jacob Alon, Kerr Mercer, Nieve Ella, Ber, and Maya Lane. On Sunday, the Hallé Orchestra will perform famous movie music and classic songs, followed by an afterparty with DJ Yoda.

If you plan to attend, you should be aware of several road closures around the park. Roads like Princes Avenue, Street Lane, Park Lane, Mansion Lane, and others will be closed from 11:00 on Friday until 1:00 on Monday. Some access will be allowed for taxis and accessible vehicles, and people going to Roundhay School on Friday can still get there. The festival gates open at 13:00 on Friday and Saturday, and at 14:00 on Sunday. Last entry is at 20:30 on Friday and Saturday, and 19:30 on Sunday. The concerts are standing only, so you cannot bring chairs or seats. You also cannot bring food or drinks, except for water in bottles up to 500ml and baby food in non-glass containers. Free water will be available inside. Bags larger than A4 size are not allowed, and banners must be flexible and not on poles.

For travel, there will be a shuttle bus from the city centre every 20 minutes, starting at 11:00 and running until 20:00. The bus picks up on Sovereign Street and drops off at Leeds Railway Station, with the last bus leaving the park at 00:30. Parking is available at Fearnville Park and Connaught Fields, with Blue Badge parking on Mansion Lane. There are also taxi pick-up and drop-off points and bike racks for cyclists. The weather forecast is good, with dry and sunny weather and temperatures in the low 20s. With so many artists and activities, Roundhay Festival promises to be an exciting event for music fans in Leeds.
