' He praised the Strictly family, saying they were 'perfect in every way,' but he had a different view of the press. In a recent interview with BBC Wales, Wynne addressed some media reports that suggested he had 'stormed out of the studio' and 'refused to go on the show' after swapping places with fellow contestant Chris McCausland on the spinoff show, It Takes Two. Wynne clarified that Chris had requested the swap because he needed to visit a school for his daughter. He firmly stated, 'It’s just total fabrication of what actually happened. ' Wynne has been candid about his journey on the show and mentioned that he learned a great deal from his dance partner, who is a three-time champion. He reflected, 'I think I'm a much stronger person coming out of it. ' Wynne and his dance partner, Katya, bid farewell to the show after their performance in Blackpool. They had a memorable time dancing the Charleston together. However, there was some controversy surrounding a 'running joke' between Wynne and Katya that did not sit well with some viewers. Many noticed seemingly awkward moments when Katya appeared to decline a high-five from Wynne and later moved his hand from her waist. After the show, both Wynne and Katya explained that it was merely a joke between them. Katya later remarked that it was 'complete nonsense' that the moment made her feel uncomfortable or offended. The BBC chose not to comment on the situation, but a source from Strictly informed BBC News that the welfare team had checked in on both Wynne and Katya, and no further actions were planned. Wynne stated, 'What I can say was it was a joke that sadly was misinterpreted. ' He added that the media coverage surrounding the incident was 'pretty relentless.
