The Wall Games festival is one of the largest street art events in Europe. Over the course of three days, from August 29 to August 31, more than 360 artists came together to paint murals all over the town. They chose places that needed to look better or had illegal graffiti. The artists painted many different kinds of murals. For example, there is a purple mural of a man with a baseball cap and a hoodie, looking out over the town. Another mural shows three women’s faces that look shiny and metallic, reflecting the world around them. There is also a colorful mural of a young woman wearing a purple beanie and headphones, with her finger pressed to her lips. One mural even shows a hand holding a phone with a goldfinch on the screen, and the screen looks like it is cracked.

James Thompson, the founder of Wall Games, said he wanted to create a lasting legacy for the town. He hopes the street art trail will encourage people to explore parts of Northampton they might not have visited before. The festival is supported by West Northamptonshire Council and Northampton BID, and it has grown from a small community project into a nationally recognized event. Thompson said there are so many murals that it would take hours to see them all. He is proud of the creative ways the festival brings people to the town and helps them discover new places. The Wall Games festival has made Northampton a more colorful and interesting place, and the murals will be there for people to enjoy for a long time.
